The Chinese are breaching the last line of defence -- video games

This reddit post says:

As seen on the recent GameDiscover article, Valve's Steam presentation at GDC confirmed that Simplified Chinese has ever so slightly surpassed English as the primary language on Steam. Important to note, this isn't based on the ever-fluctuating hardware survey that Steam has. It is based on a report straight out of the horse's mouth.

Edit: incredible things are happening in the comment section

But there's also folks like this suggesting the sinister sisipee is using western games as a digital opium to pacify their disgruntled comstituents:

  • Why is CCP using video games only to regulate Chinese population. I want to be regulated too, please CCP send me best hardware and games, I want digital opium. Pleaaaaaaaaaase

    • Xi please, new video cards are too expensive. Please pacify me with with an AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT GPU and a Ryzen 7 9800X3D. Please. I yearn to be placated.

  • That last comment is insane. They sound like one of those people who believe that video games are a waste of time. Meanwhile they're probably browsing the Internet all day and slurp up all the propaganda against US enemies they come across.

  • The last safe haven for the most oppressed minority has fallen. Billions must become incredibly racist on reddit.

  • The average redditor is so insanely brain rotted that I find it harder and harder to determine if they are a real person making these sort of unhinged comments or if it's just some mindless bot of a human working out of a cube farm at an air force base.
