Genuinely makes me tear up when Parenti speaks about his own father's experience with illiteracy as a poor Italian-American immigrant, and connected it with the expansion in literacy in Nicaragua and Cuba.

Current us administration: Let's close the department of education and make secondary education all but impossible.
