Yeah buyeuropean is quite interesting, but I was hoping to see something else

Welcome to Lemmy! We have
Political News!
Geopolitical News!
Political Memes!
Tangentially-related political content!
Fediverse politics/drama!
And...uhh...shuffles through the post pile (there's a cat meme around here... somewhere...)
Oh look -- We have Marxist/Lenninist content!
Speak for yourself, I've got Linux, beans, and video games!
How could I forget the beans?!?
You forgot Linux... Apologize!
Sorry! I was debating adding FOSS, but wanted to keep the joke running about everything being political.
Subscribe to non-political communities you like, and browse by subscribed.
Or make an account on programming.dev, where political communities are hidden from all if you arent subscribed to them
Sigh, it really was so much less political just a few months ago. Feels to me like the content changed due to how crazy the political situation got in the US (bleeding over into lots of other places too of course), which is understandable but sucks.

Wrong! We have breath deeply:

And that's just at the top of my head. We build the PixelFed public even before there was PixelFed.
Hmm, sounds like the Star Trek memers are slacking today.
I use Debian btw
Definitely give the cats community a sub
There are some good cats there that have trained their humans to care for them very well.
I'm on /all/new all day, you folks got no idea what I see
I know.
I know.
I'm right there with ya, pal
You should be commenting then... I don't see you commenting, need to get these rookie numbers up.
I comment all the time lol, check my history
Changing the sort type to Scaled helps a bit, but yeah I do wish there was a way to limit the number of post a comm can have in the local feed.
I was half serious about moving to !BuyFromEU@lemm.ee, if that's an issue for feddit.uk users to have that community taking too much space in their local feed
I subscribe to both "buying Europe things" communities and let me tell you, Scaled does NOT reduce the amount of post from them on the front page
You're missing out on !BuyFromEU@lemm.ee !
Maybe it's time to move to !BuyFromEU@lemm.ee, I don't think lemm.ee users use their local feed as much as the feddit.uk ones
There is also the feddit.org alternative 😏
I don't know, I think having too many European communities (!europe@feddit.org , !europepolitics@feddit.org , !buyfromeu@feddit.org ) on the same server seems like we are re-creating Reddit, shouldn't we have different similar communities on every instance possible? That way we'll be fully decentralized, with thousands of communities with one person posting!
/s, for people curious about the context: !yepowertrippinbastards@lemmy.dbzer0.com
I don't think the issue is where it's hosted. The issue is that the software allows it to dominate. Things like this should drive improvements in the front ends.
Oh, that as well, we there only that many volunteers working on the front end
Order by "new" you won't avoid having the many posts of that one community but at least they won't be the only one top of the page
