god I missed playing deus ex. it doesn't hit the same now. at the time it was a ridiculous story that incorporated every well known conspiracy theory, and it was fun as an obvious fantasy world where those things were all true.

now knowing there's a alarmingly huge number of people who not only believe those but much much stupider shit while ignoring what theie government is doing right in front of their face ... it just ruined my enjoyment of it. what used to be obvious fantasy now sounds exactly like genuine right wing propaganda. fuck me.

  He has certainly played Deus Ex, for a while he was using Twitter avatars from DX, he actually was fairly seriously involved in 90s PC gaming, though according to others involved in Quake at the time, he wasn't very good, and only had an advantage due to gaming on his business T1 line from Zip2, giving him a massive ping advantage in online play, but wasn't special when everyone was gathered at a LAN party.

  I grew up in a household with those conspiracies, including but not limited to Illuminati, wrist chips, and other flavors of end-of-times insanity. Grown adults spewing that straight faced made me lose my trust in them.
