Google has quietly revealed the pricing of Veo 2, the video-generating AI model that it unveiled in December. According to the company’s pricing page,

"Veo will cost more than hiring a lawyer" is a better way to explain the costs.
That's 2 eggs, per second. Or is that ½ an egg per second?

Either way, I can't lay eggs that fast...
- How quickly can you lay eggs? Any non-zero answer is impressive. Negative is almost more confusing than impressive.

That's a lot of money.
That’s something like $300 for 10 minuets

It sounds better at $30/min. Still stupid expensive, so it better deliver. As of now only tech enthusiasts are using it to say "haha look what I made".

But when these video generators are more fleshed out they'll be competing with stock videos, and likely are now. The value proposition is there if you're a company buying custom imagery from professionals. Exciting to see how this plays out.

  Good question. I bet there's decent money to be made in prompt engineering.
But what if it generates something for you and it’s not good, do you get a few retries?

At least it’s not 50 cents per second of processing time.
