Anecdotal evidence suggests those with autism tend to enjoy board games more than most, and now two new studies identify some reasons why this might be the case.

TLDR: structured rules and set/expected social interactions are great for people with ASD.
7% seems very low. In my local group I'd be surprised if it's less than 20% :D
Possibly selection bias? Those attending open game groups are more likely to be the ones who don't have a closed personal group to play with, and ASD folks are more likely to be in that situation.
