Trump's latest idea has renewed Democratic criticism of pro-Palestinian activists who encouraged voters not to back Biden or Harris in the presidential election.
Even inside the Harris campaign, there was dissent about whether she needed to take a more aggressive stance for Gaza.
A Harris organizer who worked on youth turnout said that senior campaign officials gave them an order: When they sent out mass volunteer or fundraising emails and people replied by asking about Gaza, they were told to mark it as “no response.” The result? They seldom ended up engaging with voters on that issue.
“We also didn’t create a new category for Gaza responses out of fear that category would be leaked. Instead we were told to mark them as ‘no response,’” the organizer said, faulting top Harris campaign leaders for failing to address the issue. “The only ‘clowns’ out there are those who were in senior leadership and decided to abdicate on this issue, who silenced a Palestinian speaker at the DNC, and who told us to ignore it every time a voter asked us about Gaza.”
The corporate media is trying to divide the left. Don't let them. Fuck this relitigation of the election. There's blame on both sides, but it's water under the bridge at this point. Fuck fascists and their tactics of division.
I don't think it's been corporate media posting a bunch of stupid and antagonizing bullshit to c/politicalmemes
Also, the last three elections in a row at least have all had moderate Dems who refuse to listen to their voters and do whatever their donors want and then go on to lose or barely win against this fascist prick, and I really really really don't want to go through another one of those elections. We need to have a thorough examination of how the Democratic party has been fucking us here and concrete verifiable steps they will take to stop this, otherwise the left is going to remain divided whether or not corporate media is reporting on it.
If you want to say left = liberal = Democrat, then you're intentionally overlooking the vast differences between the three groups. And even within the Democrats, there is a lot of variation.
Most Washington Democrats hold center-right views on many major topics. For example, war, immigration, corporate welfare. Well, all of this depends on definitions, and people intentionally use conflicting terminology. But anyway, of course different political groups hold different political views. That's normal.
Harris left a vacuum by not visiting Michigan families impacted by US-supplied bombs to help create a permission structure for their trust while Trump visited Dearborn and filled a community in despair with lies
Yeah and continuing to sit out or voting Republicans will surely make the change you're looking for happen.
Just as long as you're content with your decisions and accept that the reality of your consequences and that whatever happens going forward your actions helped cause it.
The "undecided" people were always decided. Decided against genocide, always were, always will be. You want them to learn ... learn what, exactly?
We all told Harris how to win and she refused to take our advice. Even now she can't admit that she screwed up... Or maybe she actually believed her pro-genocide stance was a good one, and if so, good riddance.
Really, decided against genocide so they campaigned to let a neo Nazi win. That's some solid reasoning there, maybe learn to not cut off your nose to spite your face.
As for Harris, yeah, her and the Democrats should learn to listen to the people but if you seriously think she was pro-genocide, well there's no point in even taking at that juncture.
Either way, y'all made your choices, you cast your vote, you didn't have to deal with Harris any more, good luck dealing with Trump and how receptive he and his administration will be.
Uncommitted leaders wanted the United States to be destroyed. They don’t care at all about Gaza and never have. If you were dumb enough to fall for their shit, you deserve what happens to you.
Just because you say it’s just “a take” and not backed up by anything doesn’t mean that it’s “a take” and not backed up by anything. You’re certainly entitled to your opinion, but that does not make correct. Feel free to give me some sources backing up your ”a take,” and I will immediately dismiss them. ;)
Every rational person should want all authoritarian governments destroyed without destroying the people within the country they control. Thinking otherwise just means you’re willing to sacrifice lives on a bet that worse means better eventually—which has never been the case.
