Started Playing 'The Talos Principle'
It's been in my library for years and I didn't know much about it. Randomly started playing it a few days ago and I've been having a blast solving the puzzles. It's been a while since a game has really made me want to finish it and see what is at the ending.
I'm at the end now working on the final (I think) puzzle.

Brilliant game, isn't it? It's one of my favourites.
Unfortunately there is only one DLC for it, but it is worth it.
The Talos Principle II is scheduled to be released this year, so you're in luck.

Awesome - I didn't know about the sequel. I did everything in the first one and the DLC. Loved the puzzles, writing and the Easter eggs. And mostly just the vibe. It's a hauntingly beautiful world.
Best bit of the writing for me was the mash up misunderstandings of history. It reads like a language model had incomplete info and put several key historical events into the wrong order, and drew some nonsensical causal conclusions about them.
Loved Talos. I’m usually a patient gamer but Talos 2 might be the first time I buy a game for full price in a decade. See how it reviews first though
I'm a big fan of Croteam's work (Serious Sam, Talos), but I still haven't bought Serious Sam 4 (released Sept. 4, 2020). I just checked and it is still at €38.99 on Steam. I'm a patient man, I'll wait. Maybe I'll buy Talos II full price, but I doubt it. The savings I'll make from waiting will go to (amongst other things) better hardware to run those games properly.
If you like puzzle games in general, I can recommend a few.
The entire The Room series. Good stuff some of my favorite puzzle games.
The House of Davinci series. A bit similar to The Room series. Really enjoyed all of them.
Qube series. Been a while since I played these so I don't remember much about them.
The Turing Test. Been a while for this one as well.
Quern. I struggled with this one, but still enjoyed it. I believe it's subtitled Undying Thoughts, but not 100 percent sure.
Monument Valley series. These are also on mobile if you prefer to play them on your phone. Very highly recommend, excellent games.
I would add Antichamber to that list.
I'm going to give the unpopular opinion that I didn't really enjoy it. I think I got over half way and the puzzles started to feel a bit too samey to me. I really wanted to like it.
That's fair. I admit it feels grindy with some puzzle types.
Fair. I really enjoyed it (as much as I played. Didn’t finish. Should) but I get what you are saying. To each theirs!
Same. The puzzles were pretty average, and the writing was like something put together by someone who has just taken a first-year philosophy course and is now convinced that all of their ideas are Very Deep and completely original.
I enjoyed it until the timed puzzles. I did't enjoy knowing the solution but being forced to play again and again and again to time it right.
Did you look for any of the stars. Some of them are quite devious where you have to connect lasers from one puzzle area to another, or find ways just "escape" a puzzle area with some equipment.
By the way talos principle 2 has a steam page up and is coming out by the end of this year or next year I think.
I've gotten a few but not many. A lot of the stars I've seen are behind a color lock not even in that puzzle. At first I figured there was an item I didn't have. But as time went on, I started realizing they have to connect to other areas. I may go back for them at the end.
If you want something similar after you might check out The Witness
I liked the Witness better than Talos personally. It just hung together so beautifully and artistically.
Never heard of it. Added it to my wishlist, if it it gets cheap enough I'll grab it. Thanks!
I second 'The Witness'. Its a great game and the puzzles get very interesting as you progress and begin to understand the world you have been thrown into.

it's been in my library for years now too. I just do a lot of troubleshooting at work and when I finally get a chance to game, I like playing something mindless like overwatch. Maybe I'll get a chance later on though
I got stuck on a level where you had to navigate a maze while evading suicide drones, then I turned my attention to other games out of frustration. I really enjoyed the puzzles up until that point, though!
I don’t remember exactly where I stopped but I had a similar experience. I was absolutely loving it until I just got completely stuck, spending a couple hours on a puzzle got boring. Would love to pick it up again someday when I have more time though.

This is my all-time favorite game. Once you beat it make sure to go through and find all the Easter eggs!
I'm like 99% sure this is in my library too, probably one of those Epic freebies at some point? And after reading this thread, I'm convinced to give it a shot. Sounds fun!
I really enjoyed the game! It reminds me of Portal, which is one of my favorites. Talos Principle 2 is coming out, I think
As a side note, I see that someone else recommended The Witness, but I personally prefer Braid more (both made by the same person, Jonathan Blow). In any case, you should definitely check out Braid too
Man I adore this game. Make sure to check out the Road to Gehenna DLC afterwards
It's been in my library, it came highly recommended from my partner. Seeing more praise of it I'll move it up my backlog, it seems like a pretty cool game.
This is a really fun game in VR, FYI. It's a separate purchase, but I only played it in VR, so I didn't get it twice.
