"Coveted feature" might be a bit exaggerated.
Yeah, I honestly hate it TBH. It's made screenshottimg things much more awkward.
Basically nerfed a feature I use all the time to make a feature I almost never use easier to use... I get I'm not the only android user in the world, but it would be nice to be able to pick between which mode you want.
In colorOS smartphones you have the old fullscreen google lens function which can be accessed from the Smart Sidebar.
Now if only call screening was available on all devices that'd be great.
sadly, i have to rely on Carrion from f-droid to block everything (dont have a pixel) :(
Why "sadly"? What's your experience with Carrion?
Have you ever used Yet Another Call Blocker?
I'm curious how it compares to Carrion (I'm not sure they're directly comparable, looks like Carrion does a little more than YACB).
I've used YACB for years, just to keep my phone from ringing for unknown calls, and only allow contacts to ring through.
I transferred my old number to a VoIP provider and got a new number that I only give to friends and family.
I don't get spam calls on either number now.
This would be an awesome feature. It should be made available on other devices like Circle to search.
NOOOOO, you nEed to bUy piXeL for that!
What component provides this feature? I just changed to grapheneos and I miss it.
I guess the Google app. If you install the Gapps. You can try this app to trigger Circle to Search.
That works, but I can't activate it by gesture and the tile doesn't show the app I want, only the tile pulldown, so it's useless.
But either way that's not the function I was thinking of. What's the one on the task view that lets you select text or images? Or is there another way to invoke the "select text or images on the screen" functionality?
