Thank god... I've finally passed my kidney stone of a project. It's not totally done but all of the hard bits are done. Just writing things up and sending it out now.
Literally lost 3-4kg in stress and missed meals / sleep. But I think we have something that might be worth it. Having a very career defining kind of year.
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup water
50gm salted butter (cold)
1/2 cup milk
Start in a cold saucepan (small obvly) mix the sugar and water. Constantly stirring at high heat until all the sugar is dissolved, then medium heat until the very bubbly mixture (keep stirring) turns light brown. turn to low heat, add the butter and keep stirring until fully incorporated. Add milk slowly, stirring constantly. if the mixture have thick spots just keep stirring until consistent.
You can reduce the milk amount by half to get a thicker sauce or use evaporated milk for a stronger milk taste. this is runny (because i want to stir it into coffee.)
Used to think it's cringey when people post about their partner, now that I have one, i've become that cringey person. I want everyone to know how lovely my partner is. How smart, kind, thoughtful and loving he is. Everyday I wonder what the hell did i do to land this guy? Just the sweetest guy ever and he deserves all the love in the world. And i just wanna shower him with so much love and happiness. If you're reading this I love u so much, don't cry at work 😘
I can't believe my favourite fountain pen shop (in SS2) is more on the ball than our journos and news portal. They now have a fedi account: @pengallery@penfount.social
Hahahahahhaha imagine being in a job that's supposed to be on the pulse of society and you're slower than a shop selling a pretty old-fashioned tool.
Got a graduation event next month. Unlike previous batches, we have to pay for the clothes (shirt, tie, slacks) ourselves because there's no allocation. Have to buy it from a distributor for uniformity.
Yang elaun ciput ni jugak dia nak perah, celaka betol.
Uni graduation was the worst graduation for me. Had to pay a shit ton and the experience was meh. I was even planning to skip mine entirely because ceremonies like these are meaningless to me(just a personal thing) but my peers asked me to join.
Anyone used DHL's courier service before? Is there anything specific I need to prepare if I want to ship something to a friend other than the address, the stuff and the payment?
i just realized this week in the fediverse has been about name change after name change:
calckey -> firefish, so lots of instances that had calckey in domain name changed their names
firefish has a trademark issue, so probably some of those instances that changed names to firefish are doing so again, firefish software itself gets a fork called iceshrimp
.ml gov decides to take back their country code, so any fediverse instance there will have to change name, one of the biggest would be lemmy.ml (has anyone heard what's the latest on this one?)
For the lemmy.ml one, no update to this day, and i think the admin also give no comment on that issue as well. Feels like they will keep on trucking until the government decide to take action.
I'm scratching my head with lemmy.ml. I've seen their users posting in lemmy.world like normal, and I myself posted onto their communities from my .world account and gotten upvotes. How is this possible?
Ignore this comment. lemmy.ml is still up somehow.
Hahaha and here I am who've just decided to go back to my Flickr (they promised to federate tho) because I like the metapixl.com the best but the alt-text function macam broken (it says max limit is 2000 char but it actually cuts off at 150). Otherwise they have the best combo of features and storage tho.
Went to Spark in TREC (old Zouk) last weekend and the scene is so different from the time I went first time around 10 years ago.
Clubs now are full of gimmicky stunt to promote their alcohol, overcrowded, and people are busy in their phones when not dancing.
Gone were the times when us males can go 'cari makan' in the crowd, score x score it's ok. But the thrill of hoping to catch attention from the opposite sex is fun enough.
I'm 30+ too but only started clubbing around 2019 and maybe it's my lack of experience of how things used to be, but I think it's pretty fun still for the music! Having said that, I think you might be able to find the experience you're looking for elsewhere because Spark's dancefloor is so packed that there's hardly any space for interaction. Especially once Blink gets on the deck - you can forget about moving laterally anymore.
