In a new podcast interview, Obsidian studio head Feargus Urquhart stated that development of the long-awaited sci-fi RPF sequel The Outer Worlds II "is going really well" even as it finishes Avowed.

I'm glad to hear that. I enjoyed the first one.
Good game, fun with a tone similar to the Obsidian Fallout game. Would like deeper relationships with shipmates (including ADA) and third person view.
Their trailer made it very clear they were forced to announce this too early, so 'going well' is everything we could expect at this point.
