Great job! We just gave you a shout-out on We Distribute: https://wedistribute.org/2024/07/canvas-2024-live/
It's seriously awesome that you got this to work with more than just Lemmy. The app is looking great, and it seems like you're off to a strong start!

If I had a nickel for every time I saw this chart in the past 24 hours, I'd have two nickels, which isn't much, but it is funny that it happened twice.
The other time, it was being used to describe politics. So this one is a lot less stress-inducing, thankfully.
Anyone else encounter an issue where they refresh the page and see only recently placed pixels?
I've also been getting some erroneous "You already placed this colour at this location" messages. Maybe the pixel is there, but it doesn't show up at my end.
@grant@toast.ooo, any idea what might cause this?
Edit: Firefox on Windows, Firefox on Andoid.
Looks like mobile browsers are having some trouble, I'm in the same boat.
Not just mobile. I ran into the same issue on my PC
I think i got arround it by cloning the tab of the canvas. Don't know if it works on mobile...
me too, wasn't sure if it's supposed to be like this (first timer)
Second both issues (using mobile Safari, btw)
all right everyone let's expend extraordinary amounts of energy and time fighting with people over whether this section of internet whiteboard should display a fascist flag or a corporate advertisement! what an incredible use of time!
Woohoo!
Got a bit of disconnection and some "502 Bad Gateway", but I'm placing pixels now!
Edit: Seems to be down again...
Edit2: It's back up!
down again.
Edit: up again.
I'm getting a weird thing where if I refresh Canvas some of the pixels I put down aren't showing up, but if I try to replace them it tells me I already put that color there. The heat map shows they're placed too, so I'm guessing it'll be fine. Just wondering if this is a known issue.
Edit: It's fine now, maybe it was just me, idk.
I had the same bug at times, I guess the whole thing can be a bit wonky, but at the fundamentals, I think everything works
I want to make a mandelbrot set
Aaaaannd its all nationalism. You can create any fucking thing and you need to put more fucking flags????
Palestinians can have a little nationalistic pride, as a treat.
Well yeah, but then its a statement or a message against genocide not the same thing
They're really easy to make.
Would be cool if some of the large instances pinned a message about this (if the server can handle that)
There is already a Nazi flag on there yuck
There's a little hammer and sickle north of it, though NATO-nerds are trying to erase it
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND it's gone
update being applied
Anyone able to get the Pixel Whois feature to work on desktop? Longpress on a mobile device seems to work, but left/right click doesn't seem to do anything.
hold shift then left click on any pixel, that should bring it up :)
Thanks! :)
I should have paid closer attention to the "⇧" character in the keybinds menu...
I've nothing I especially want to add to this at the moment, but if anyone has a project they want sporadic help with, let me know :-)
Oh hey, I recognise you from previous lemmy.world football communities! We're doing the Arsenal badge over at lemmy.world/c/gunners if you want to help get some sports rep in
Cool, no problem, stuck 6 reds down just now and will keep an eye on it and add more as and when :-)
Where do we put it?
put it here and then we can make laser eyes going to the NATO flag
