Now that Putin says he won't attack NATO, should we start preparing?

When those F-16s fly under NATO and Ruzzia would shot those down. Wouldn't it make an attack on NATO?
- Not really. The Ukraine is not a member of NATO. And a war zone for Russia.

Given the opposite land Putin lives in, me new expectation: Russia launches AA against NATO F-16s and uses this statement as proof it must have been Ukraine who did it.
