Holy shit, Linux memes trending in the global memes community? I belong here.
- The best part of Linux memes are how much on the edge they are. I am honestly not sure if the Linux community disagrees on the point or if they think that one doesn't have to be so serious.
  
  From my experience managing Linux folk it depends on the individual and the time of day.

Is there a simple name that is a good catch-all? Preferably one that's two syllables? Lemmy is such a simple name, much like Reddit or Twitter. Fediverse and threadiverse i feel just complicate it all

  I like the name Lemmy the most personally, but not every instance is necessarily running Lemmy right? Or are all the different sites like beehaw and kbin and such also running Llemmy?
- I dislike "Fediverse" and "Threadiverse", because I feel like Meta has left a bad taste in people's mouths with the previews of their Metaverse, and I imagine that's probably the first thing most people think of when they hear "Fediverse". I think they'd be fine names on their own, if not for that.

I thought Kbin was much newer than lemmy. So Kbin would be the new stepchild?
- Yes, since the analogue is GNU/Linux. Though I don't know if Kbin shares any code with Lemmy.
  
  Then it's a bad analogy. Kbin and Lemmy work independently. Linux and GNU are part of the same stack. Like it's not remotely comparable. They are also written in two different languages so I doubt they share that much code on the backend at least.

I created accounts for both. I found the UI better but clearly the advantage of lemmy is to have apps already. Like in Linux choice is a great thing and if it makes the community bigger, why not? So peace and coexist!
