How Tunnel Girl's DIY storm shelter took over TikTok — then turned people against her
A TikToker went viral for digging a tunnel under her home. Now many are questioning the ethics and safety of her project.
Colin Furze has done the same thing in the UK on YouTube. I haven't heard any criticism of him.
I'm freakin surprised the council didn't come down on him for not getting planning permission.
If nobody complains then bureaucrats don't care.
But on December 30, Bogado posted a TikTok video disputing this account.
She said she had tracked down Kala's location and contacted her neighbors, discovering many of them were "migrants from Central America" who chose not to report the digging despite their health and safety concerns because they were worried about immigration authorities.
Basically, for good or for ill, someone narced.
Where I live, I can do whatever I want to my property (for the most part.)
Seems like this would only be an issue for people who do not actually own their property, like those subject to an HOA.

Down the rabbit human hole I go
In clinical practice, we see far far more worry (some of it very scary) than relief when someone comes in to say they have embarked upon treatment or have determined treatment based upon their own research. However, some people are actually quite good at it. The worst however are people who have expertise in something else.
How did race get thrown into this? And if she is digging on her own property and not under a neighbors house? That's not an issue with health and safety of anyone else. I guess I don't see the issue with all of this. Who gives a fuck if she is building a tunnel under her yard.
The government usually. I can't sneeze in my backyard without a permit.
Does anyone really believe she dug it by herself?
