I love how everybody throws around comparisons to fascism and Nazis these days. We could focus on the left or the right and easily create a list of all the things we've done that was similar to things Nazis did. It really isn't hard to do...

They are measurably the most lonely people seeking a sense of community that is missing from their real lives. It makes them susceptible to radicalization, which is why they are so easily targeted with this kind of messaging of taking such immense pride in the depravity of inhumanness.

It's also just bizarre because who is this for? Is this how DeSantis sees himself? Or how he thinks people see him?

Maybe there's some people it works on, but I can't imagine anyone sees him pass yet another useless anti LGBT law and thinks "wow that was super tough and badass". If there are people that think like that, I sincerely hope I never meet one

Worth noting also that Achilles (Brad Pitt’s character) is thought to have been gay (or at least in a couple of homosexual relationships). Obviously not 100% certain of this, but at the very least it’s how he’s viewed through a modern lens. So it’s weird that someone specifically went after this specific clip rather than any other ancient fighter in a movie? 300, Gladiator, I mean there were options.
