Pepper plant: "Fuck mammals. Always ruining my seeds when they eat my fruits. I want to cause them pain. Birds are nicer so no pain for them."
Some mammal with a really weird fur pattern: "This causes me pain. I'm spreading it over my food!"
Definitely a case of "task failed successfully" though, because we cultivate those planets -- making their continued survival all but ensured.
