  • magandang umaga mga ka-plema! kamusta kayo?

gusto ko na ulit magbasa ng libro, anong fave books nyo? lemme.know hehe <3

    • The Law on Obligations and Contracts
      The Law on Income Taxation

I believe these two should be part of Gen. Ed. subjects in college. Mas may pakinabang sa ordinary people than science subjects (lalo na kung hindi naman science ang course mo).

    • Nag enjoy ako sa Cosmere series ni Brandon Sanderson. Discworld series ni Terry Pratchett is very good din

    • Electrical Layout and Estimate - M. F.

      • Nonfiction - All You Need to Ace Computer Science and Programming (2 hours daily) new!
      • Nonfiction - Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents (1 hour daily) former 2 hours
      • Nonfiction - Bobby Fischer Teaches Chess (30 mins daily) former 1 hour
      • Fiction - The Art of Racing in the Rain (30 mins daily) former 2 hours

NOTE: daily means only the weekdays, weekends are always unplanned to break the monotonous effect of consistency

    • Quite an old book, but The Broker by John Grisham is a novel I go back to from time to time. Everything was just very appealing to me: the pacing, the action, the details, the storytelling, the plotlines. It is not perfect, but it is good enough for me to get re-reading every now and then.

For a short story, it is The Bet by Anton Chekhov. This kinda solidified reading for me as a leisurely pursuit in my younger years, although R.L. Stine's Goosebumps really got me into reading in my toddler-ish years.

For Non-Fiction, Victor Frankl's Man's Search for Meaning is a great read, as well as Atomic Habits by James Clear.

For something light and funny, I would recommend John Kennedy Toole's A Confederacy of Dunces. Now, the humor is a hit or miss, but it is entertaining to read.

      F. Sionil Jose is a great local author I would want to recommend, as I am getting into reading Filipino Literature. I've only read one of the Rosales Saga series of novels, but I thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to reading the rest of the series. Though I am not sure about the reading order.

May you peacefully enjoy your reading time.

Looking at the "map" (which is weirdly drawn, but on par with everything Barbie), the "nine-dash line" (which is actually eight) is a reach. I think Vietnam overreacted, and don't support any ban in the Philippines, and I'm not even a wumao.

    • Wtf? Will the kids (probably the targeted audiences of this film) notice it? Even myself, di ko mapansin. Modern audiences are too woke when it comes to these minuscule movie details, like this one, tapos connect-to-dot agad sa reyalidad, like come on son!

I'm speculating this frame, or "that map" will not affect the whole film's plot.

    • Nagustuhan ko yung take ni TKalbo tungkol dito.

      • This is also my take as well. Same reason why I also didn't like Jolo's portrayal in Plane. It's not so much that it's fiction, a joke, and all that — but perception is reality.

That said, hindi ko pa naman napanood yung movie and it's unclear if those dashed lines are more like cartoony steps/directions. But if it's true that those are indeed the nine-dash line, I can see why people would like it banned — although against ako sa censorship or banning and do not support it at all.

  • Reset na naman ng rank sa CODM kaso nag-hiatus ako. Aabot pa ako ng Legendary kung di ako matutulog mamaya. emz

  • Anyare sa dating welcome post?

    • It's still there. I just unpinned it and restored the original title because it was initially intended to be a welcome wagon for rexxitors.

I made a new version that's more of a neutral welcome kit and reference material for anyone that joins. Not sure if I'll keep it locked or reopen it for people to say hi or something.

    • It's still available both in lemmy.world and lemm.ee. I don't know about other instances, but since this community is in lemmy.world, and the post is still there, it should still be accessible for all instances federated with lemmy.world.

  • Asking for a kakilala: saan pa pwede magpa COVID19 2nd booster around Metro Manila? Yung hindi north part kasi hassle daw. Thanks.
