Looking for Simplest way to setup a Videomeeting for 30 people and 2 hours
I need to set up a video conference for about 30 people for 2 hours.
I would use zoom or ms teams, but Zoom limits me to 45mins; ms teams, as far as I understood, limits me to 1 hour.
What is the best and the simplest way to do this (and it must be a reliable option with web access)?
Ps: there is no need to be foss or super private or encrypted.
Check jitsi meet (meet.jit.si)
It is a free service based on an open source framework and runs fine in a browser.
I don't know of it can handle 32 but during the pandemic it was used for online classes.
You can persist the session and use the link to it on the invite I think. The link is not protected however, anyone can use it but that never was an issue.
I use jitsi all the time. The link should work. It works really well. No one needs to install anything. Just a regular browser. Although I've had mixed results using Firefox but Chrome and Edge work really well. It also has a mobile app if you are so inclined.
cool, then you probably can clarify me how it assumed to be used to organize a meeting.
What I see now, looks the following way
I create a meeting with unique name, join it and immediately leave it. Now this meeting will exist forever (I cannot delete it)
I send link to the meeting to people who should participate with start date/time
Anyone from invited people can login to the meeting using their gmail/fb credentials before me and takeover meeting admin role.
Moreover, if on step 1 I enter already existing meeting name, there will be no error message I simply try to jump-in in existing meeting (without knowing this).
I’m sure the web version is as good as or better than Teams or Zoom. Any Zoom calls I’ve been subjected to have been a complete shit show of people trying to get it to work for the first 15mins…
Check out this article re. setting up and scheduling a FaceTime call. FWIW, anyone can join the call on any device but you’ll need an Apple device to set it all up initially.
