Haven't touched reddit since July 1st

It's almost as if reddit's first party app couldn't even compete with third party apps. I used Boost for Reddit and now I'm waiting for Boost for Lemmy

Still trying to wrap my head around the cross-community, cross-server talk, but then again I'm drunk so I should just try again in the morning

Is the title supposed to sound like a Narcotics Anonymous meeting or am I just projecting?
- In a way social media is a drug and most of us were addicted. At least I was on Reddit, because I liked being there. So not using it, especislly when it was kind of a habit may not be easy for many on virtue fo that alone.

I'm still grieving the Reddit that was.

Now, I'm excited for the threadiverse that could be.
- It hurts to lose everything we had, but leaving is the only way to have better platforms in the future.
  
  It's also not that bad. Most okder users went through plenty of online communities.
Having come from helping run some very large communities as well as a lot of niche communities.

Kbin and Lemmy give me the same kind of feeling Reddit gave me almost 12+ years ago.
I dropped Reddit the day before the blackout. Dropped that garbage and moved on.
Kinda reminds me of the feeling I had when I left Digg for Reddit.

I'm looking forward to the day where answers to technical questions are not always found on corporate websites like Stack and Reddit.
- They already are, depending what you're looking for. A lot of the answers that I've found to take questions in the last few years are on obscure developer support forums.
I’ve also completely cut the cord with Reddit! I’m really excited by the potential in the threadiverse! My hope is we can get enough critical mass to keep the super niche and esoteric communities active like Reddit had.
I’m really impressed with how quickly lemmy is building a community, shitposts, beans, and all.

If you haven’t tried wefwef.app, it’s worth a shot. Basically a clone of Apollo, but as a web app.
- I have problems with the import from Apollo feature where it freezes on the list after I pick a subreddit and then go back to the list. Anyone else have that problem?

I'm still checking it because Infinity for Reddit isn't "dead" yet. I used Sync too, so I'm waiting for Sync for Lemmy/kbin! (I know it's coming out in about 5 weeks according to the developer of Sync.)

Yeah, it's been super weird constantly opening Apollo due to muscle memory but haven't logged back in since the 1st.
I understand. Spez harmed Reddit.
I've lurked and posted some, but /all just seems different.
Been lamenting losing some niche subreddits that I frequented, but it almost makes me want to start those communities here on lemmy.

Im sure there are a few people who have the same idea but dont know how to like myself.

Ah well, maybe myself or someone else will get around to it soon enough.
- I've also been mourning the loss of some of my smaller subreddits and thinking of re-creating them here. If you do end up doing so yourself, consider making one last post on those old subs to recommend others join as well!
It still won't make sense when you're sober, but you get used to it :)
Same! Been on wefwef for the past 3 days and although it will take time getting used to the reduced posts/comments, it's still amazing!
- Hopefully there will be more content with time, also. I know I'm going to try and step out of my comfort zone to post and comment more often.
  
  I'm also doing this! Feels like the old reddit lurkers are finding their voice on a new social media lol.

- The reduced amount of comments here actually motivate me to comment more. On Reddit I wouldn't even bother commenting on a lot of posts as they would have comments in the hundreds sometimes and I couldn't see the point to bother just having my comment never seen in a sea like that.
