I'm glad to see the Broncos getting blown out. I hope sphincter-mouthed Sean Peyton never wins another game. There are few coaches that I really can't stand, but he is at the top of the list. Okay, he's second to Bobby Petrino, but it's a close second.
This is a man who REFUSED to catch when on our team. And refused to run or fall forward or do much of anything positive. All my homies hate Jimmy Graham.
Holy shit is this the most Kirk Cousins game of all time? Throws for over 350yds 2 TDs, has like 6 red zone chances only to throw a hurried pick in the endzone after they refuse to just spike it and stop the clock.
I'm not even a Vikings fan and I was in awe of them NOT CLOCKING THE FUCKING BALL!! WTF!!! I'm like clock it, clock it, clock it, wtf are you doing???? CLOCK IT, CLOCK IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT, (snaps ball) jesus, finally, omg a pick, they deserved to lose that game.
Why have two chances when you can just have one? Also kudos to the vikings fans for making it so loud their own qb can barely even hear the play call. Embarrassing
The Vikings vs Chargers game was the most Vikings and Chargers game ever. Staley going for it at his own 20 when Vikings have no timeouts. An easy interception bounced off someone's own face turns touchdown. Cousins burning 25 seconds after a first down conversion to stay alive for no reason whatsoever. Both teams should've lost tbh.
As a Broncos fan, I feel more disrespected that they DIDN'T kick that field goal. Now my team sucks and I don't even get that feeling of witnessing history.
And yeah the morning/early games are all underway. Most games are still pretty close. I've got RedZone on so I'm keeping tabs on all of them. So far Baltimore and Miami appear dominant, Green Bay can't get out of their own way, too early to tell on the other games.
No, because it makes no sense. There is no benefit to kicking a field goal in that situation. When they were at midfield with like 3+ minutes left it makes a little sense, because rather than burn more time trying to get that last 30 yards, you take three points, try to get a stop, and then a TD gets you a win instead of OT where you can still lose. In last night's situation, if EVERYTHING played out the same they'd have gotten the ball back with a little over a minute and one time out (thanks to the 2 minute warning).
Once they got the first handed to them and moved it to the four....everything changes because of time/position. At fourth and goal from the 4, if you go for it and miss nothing has changed. You still need a touchdown and a stop, but your opponent needs to go 96 yards to the end zone and about 60 for a field goal. You might also get lucky and get a safety, and the ball back with time to spare, and a TD now wins it.
If you kick the field goal from the four (like they did) again, nothing changes. You still need a stop, you still need a touchdown but now, you lose more time kicking the ball off, and have to use all your timeouts to stop the clock. The best case outcome in both scenarios (except for a safety) is that you succeed and hold your opponent to zero net yards. But in the second scenario, you are getting punted to from the 25 instead of the 4, so you have shittier field position, you need to go further down field, in less time, with no ability to stop the clock.
Sam Howell was shook after a couple of hits by Bills and that was all she wrote for Washington. Fins played amazing. Colts were stout vs Ravens on the road. Ugly win, some help from refs, but it's a win.
Feeling my years of smug superiority in our split fandom household slip away as I watch his Dolphins in their celebratory conga. Oh well, as long as one of our teams is dominant at any one time!
