Japanese YouTuber Sentenced to 2 Years in Prison for Sharing Gameplay and Anime Videos

Japanese YouTuber Shinobu Yoshida has been sentenced to two years in prison and a 1 million yen fine for sharing Steins;Gate gameplay videos.

Its a suspended sentence, not an imprisonment. Its still shitty and nonsense, but the title of the article is even shittier.
So this effectively will kill the Japanese Lets Play sector of videos? I wonder how this will effect vtubers.
- This is why japanese vtuber companies get permission for every game they play on stream. Japanese copyright law is crazy strict
- Dude streamed a NOT YET RELEASED visual novel that was obtained illegally.
- Yeah basically game/anime streaming just died with this decision.
That's a bit much for what they did. I could understand if they leaked an episode early or ripped a blu ray and uploaded it to a torrent site. However it sounds like they basically made an amv of SpyxFamily.
