I looked it up once - apparently mosquitos are an important food source for birds, bats, frogs, and the larvae is eaten by fish.
This meme is braindead. Mozzies do suck, but everything has it's place and we're waaay to stupid to play God with ecosystems and the food chain
I do agree we doing way to much to ecosystems but mosquitoes are a problem worth trying to fix, in first world countries they barely spread disease but they kill so many people worldwide with disease. We most likely shouldn't eradicate them for that but something tio mitigate that spread would be amazing.
What? It worked perfectly with cane toads. And wild boars. And catfish. And mongoose.
Unfortunately they're also pollinators.
They're an insignificant source, at least for bats and birds.
Honestly, if it weren't for the itch and the (admittedly somewhat low) chance for transmitting diseases, I wouldn't mind them.
if they can shut up when trying to suck my blood, I will mostly ignore them
So ... you don't mind the male mosquitoes. Only the female.
Wouldn't mind them either if it weren't for the aforementioned factors. And since I can hardly differentiate between male and female mosquitoes when I see one, because don't know what to look for, they all get the extermination treatment once they enter my flat.

I used to feel this way until I was bitten by a horsefly. I'd rather have 10 mosquito bites than this
But horseflies are easy to see, trap, and/or swat. Plus, that ratio might be right, 10:1, but I think my actual historical ratio is more like 400:1, and I’d definitely rather one horsefly bite than 400 mosquito bites
They're mostly pollinators. Both males and females eat flower nectar. Females need a small amount of blood in addition to that when reproducing.
