ah yes, refuse to fund the schools with taxes and let the religious institutions do it. This is why Americans are generally thought of as 'well-educated' on the world stage.

its funny how it works both ways. I could easily see this comic on an right-wing facebook page in the USA in favor of 'school vouchers'

Feirdro @lemmy.world Americans are nowhere near the top anymore, on any recent metric Iâve heard.

solstice @lemmy.world I'm sure this is going to be a level headed rational discussion about taxes by all the knowledgeable skilled tax professionals in lemmy.
69 9 Replysatanmat @lemmy.world I glossed over the tax implications and went straight to the indoctrination of the masses into the ideals of capitalism

I mean on one hand I agree with you. But on the other I don't think you need to be a "tax professional" to have a valid opinion on taxes.
Like I'm sure you express opinions you are not a leafing expert on right?
24 1 Replysolstice @lemmy.world Actually I try to go out of my way to not have opinions on complicated technical subjects I know nothing about. Tend to defer to whatever the experts' consensus is. It's shocking to me how few people do that.
Edit - lol at the downvotes, thanks for proving my point.

Primarily0617 @kbin.social I'm surprised you think it's the tax deductions that are the issue here.
15 0 Replysolstice @lemmy.world I don't think they're an issue at all.

DumbDumbMcAssHat @lemmy.world One of the first things to do with complex and nuanced topics is to express them in comics.
