German regulator approves Microsoft 365 for GDPR compliance

Did they address the key concern that Microsoft, no matter what they write in their contracts with EU, is obligated by law to hand over all their data to US authorities when asked?
And which avenues would an EU citizen have to deny consent to that?

Time to switch to open-source products. I don't trust Microsoft at all.

like it's said at the end: that only accounts for hesse and isn't a decision for all of germany. on the contrary: this year the german planning council for it-security adviced every authority to start using odf as file format. several bureaus already switched f.e. foreign affairs.

You truly got to admire how of the 4 Documents, which show how and why this is compliant with the GDPR, 3 are authored by MS and 1 is authored by them. In all fairness it is likely the most important one, the Doc about data security,etc. Yet I dont think this is a particulary good move as they them selfes sorta admit, as they openly admit that this deal has nothing to do with digital souverenty and havent thought about it at all. Which would likely be a dealbreaker if one cared about such things
