What's your silly little website.
What's your silly little website.
Got introduced to https://beesbeesbeesbees.com/ in another thread, do you have any silly links to share?

Damn, Zombocom. I remember taking a Photoshop class in highschool, probably 2004 or so, and we were able to sync up all like 35 computers to play Zombocom at the same time. It was a really wonderful thing to hear, Zombocom in 70.0, crappy computer speaker quality.
The thing that people wouldn't get today is that zombocom was a spoof site of other stuff that was out there that was actually kind of like this. People - usually someone trying to ride the emerging .com wave - would barf up these incomplete early web sites with promises that absolutely would never be delivered.

Damn, that button is almost as old as me.
I like the community !coolwebsites@lemmy.ca there's a ton there.
Neocities.org have some awesome sites as well.
https://piefed.social/f/smallweb
If we are doing more piefed links :D
Instant sub lol I love these things.
This is exactly what this world needs more of.
I've actually used HTTP cats at work. You can call it inside your own error messages with https://http.cat/[status_code]
Saving this.
They even have my favorite: https://http.cat/418
The only limit is yourself at https://zombo.com/
Hey that's twice I've been linked there!
https://xn--bruzzelhtte-0hb.de/ Local Currywurst place has this legendary website
This is absolutely amazing! I do hope the absolute best for Jannine, she sounds wonderful. I've never been so invested in a restaurant employee on the other side of the planet.
Oh my God it murders my laptop. Love the website though, it's fantastic.
Oh wow I wished the entire web was like this. Not only a single würstjoint in Germany but world wide. Like a world wide web.
That's incredible
I know hating ai is the style of the times, but I love watching them do things like this. Honestly, ai as a goofy little toy would be so much better.
Amazing!
I'm so disappointed that the official pens are unavailable, I need pens for my office.
This is great.
Q: Can I provide my own wood?
\ A: In most cases we can handle your wood.
If you live in Antarctica contact us for a special discount!
Your pen is Our business!
Imagine my surprise and amusement to discover that https://www.realultimatepower.net/ is still online.
That and theBestPageInTheUniverse were formative
(I say, realizing that I remember nearly none of them besides vibes)
This was incredibly informative, thank you.
This is peak Internet. Thank you for sharing!
Lucy pic on the balls list made my entire day.
I made it because I found the filesize limitation of catbox to be too small, and I want to host other stuff than pictures and videos too.
It requires a login to upload stuff, as I don't want to deal with the headache of accepting anonymous uploads, and I might make it into something "proper" one day.
EDIT: Catbox, not carbon. Ducking autocorrect.
Oooo like a response pics folder but on the internet!
I can set you up with an account if you want. If so, DM me your chosen username and an email address (the latter doesn't have to be valid, but I do intend to have a password reset function at some point)
Shout out to how much I miss Stumble Upon from the earlier days of the internet.
I never got to experience it and I mourn the loss all the same.
Truely a masterpiece.
https://bosshobbies.neocities.org/ I made a website to help score Beyblade X games, and turned it into a watchapp for the Pebble watchapp https://apps.rebble.io/en_US/application/68efa55f5bf09a0009eac172
I absolutely love nieche hobby things like this!
This was amazing, thank you
https://bearjcc-quack-language-model.hf.space/ Chat with a rubber duck
Fantastic. Best use of language models I've seen.
Thanks! I discovered you don't need to build a transformer to be openai compatible. This operates more as a slot machine so I didn't waste energy training a model to be a duck and its more lightweight. There's 70ish possible responses with varying rarities and just a simple rule not to repeat the same one twice. If you use the website or API there is a slight chance your "data" will be captured by your ISP or HF, but it's open source and super lightweight so you can run it locally. If you are super security minded you might notice there are 3 things obfuscated in the source code. They are just fun Easter eggs obfuscated like a spoiler tag, but it's just base64 so you can easily audit to verify my claim that it's humor not vulnerability.
My “silly little website” isn’t really that silly — it’s about exploring clean, alternative power like aluminum–air and saltwater systems. I’m genuinely interested in how such chemistry-based power could support resilience in remote or disaster-prone areas. That’s what I’ve been building at www.wehometool.com .
This is actually amazing and will probably be this weeks deep dive.

Once upon a time, there was a site called StumbleUpon which was a glorified search engine, except you basically only picked a category/topic and their service would redirect you to some random page on the net that was under the category.
The site went down eventually and they took off their extension. They eventually turned into Mix, but now you can actually still find StumbleUpon out there. They've closed off their actual capability for some reason.
The closest thing we have now maybe that doesn't exactly match but for giggles, is the useless web:
This one is also kinda cool for those that are interested:
Lemmy.
I don't know, I hear only absolute dinguses post things there...
Dotlink — just someone's personal page with a peculiar design.
It seems to be partly inspired by r/Ooer (you need to have custom subreddit css allowed on this link, or open it in an incognito tab).
Oh man, I miss that brief moment when people who had sites like this were cool and interesting. There was so much more life in the internet.
I mean, I still consider this page cool. It seems to have originated in 2016, and IMO it's not quite the 90s ‘dancing baby’ design or Myspace, but instead has a definite whiff of Tumblr art circa early-mid 2010s. I liked psychedelic-ish Tumblr art, it gave a whimsical perspective on life.

And the parent site
Where did they get this video of me dancing?
Is YTMND.com out of favor? I can't remember if something happened at some point and people started to hate it.
I have Captain Jean-Luc Picard, USS Enterprise, burned into my head.
It's not popular anymore, but it is still alive with new stuff being made on it all the time.
Omg I'm going to go out at my cat!
Not really a website with custom domain, but Anuken's Personal Website is kinda funny, even more so when you realize this cat is the developer of the famous open-source game Mindustry
https://theuselessweb.site/nooooooooooooooo/
I put it in my homescreen, very useful.
Doesn't wirk on mobile, I'm afraid.
http://www.staggeringbeauty.com/ is an oldie but a goodie
This is a masterpiece.
I just get a dead website.
I nearly dropped my phone you a-hole 🤪
Oh... this seizure of a site. Good thing I turned bluetooth off so I wouldn't throw my headphones at the wall.
Wow
