Maybe the Trump administration should stop committing political violence then?
They're not being moved because of violence...
Not only does violence happen on base, lots of bases tell their members not to stop for gas or anything within a couple miles of base due to the rampant poverty and resulting crime immediately outside of a base.
They're moving onto bases so protestors can't bother them.
But it's just as likely to end up with military members protesting them. And that won't start with a handful, one day 100s or even 1000s will show up. Even junior enlisted understand numerical advantages and if enough do it, they can't punish everyone.
They're gonna push boots on the ground into a corner, and act shocked when they do what they're trained to do, and what they pledged an oath to do
It would be WILD if these yokels were just straight up murdered by the people on the base. They move there to get away from violence and it turns out, the military didn't like them much.
One can dream, right?
It would be unwise to do it on-base. It'd be safer to follow them out and do it nearby, making it look like crossfire in a local criminal beef.

But in addition to the shit we hear about, their presence on the base is likely causing a lot of bullshit in the day to day life of military members, and eventually we might see a uniformed protest. If it does come to that, it won't start slow like a civilian protest. One day so many people will just show up that the Military Police literally can't arrest them all.
And MPs won't escalate force like civvie cops, because every MP is painfully aware how out numbered they are, and are likely even more fed up than the tank and file.

Is this "wave of political violence" in the room with us right now? From what I can tell it's pretty much a bunch of libs holding up posterboards and complaining about/mocking officials. I don't think they've got the stomach to be violent quite frankly.
If you're used to the privilege of nobody ever insulting you to your face, the sting of realising some people aren't afraid to say bad things about you does feel like violence. All mechanisms intended to keep sharp words away from your fragile pride have evidently failed – what's to say those awfully bold people won't hurt you in other ways?

This was written in the nineties, and the authors look forward to this with obvious glee. They also have a total disdain for the "unworthy" in their minds. They think people that were/are basically unskilled in the West were/are WAY overpaid and that's due to the evil government extracting wealth from the brave job creators, who, before the information age, were subject to building massive infrastructure in physical locations, the poor dears. The authors look forward to a bright future where the worthy will be able to escape taxes w/o having to sacrifice by living in some third world shithole with a terrible quality of life.

There was no violence against this person. The people who wrote pretty basic nonthreatening messages on the sidewalk near his house checked with their security before they did it.

I have a problem with this headline. There's no evidence in this report or in the source article of an actual "wave of political violence" against these officials. They mention the shooting of Charlie Kirk and of the two Democratic politicians in Minnesota. Neither seem to be part of any wave that would target these politicians who are moving into cheap or free housing on military bases. The headline unnecessarily legitimizes their paranoia and their excuses.

They know that there is no precedent for such violence against them specifically. But they are also extrapolating, correctly I think, that people will want to kill them for what they are planning to do, above even what they are currently doing.
