Like why do we have the domain again? Where are the Megas? Is everything back to normal? What happened withthe auction?
I feel like I worked a ten hour shift and came back and the site was back and everyone who was online when it happened knows why and there's no mega to ask a simple question. There are dozens of us.
Eh its okay, this is like my fourth hexbear/chapo.chat account. I only switched to lemmy.ml so I could argue with libs that defederated from hexbear, but I think I'm over that for now. Just wanna be around my people again!

just used the search function looking for a megathread. that's just like... your opinion, man.
They got into contact with the original owner for the login info and was able to claim the domain. The bidding is still happening though and will result in likely losing it permanently at the end of the month. The community vooted and decided to just get a different domain like hexbear.ru or .world or whatever. It will take a lot of work to convert everything over and make the site stable again.
Yah, think the admins just convinced Sav to still link here while they work through the problems. I would still use chapo.chat until it is worked out completely.
