40K is still a huge threshold.
I came here looking for this. I get inflation and all, but I bought my car new for โฌ12k in 2017. A sedan with good gasoline range, spacious, big trunk.
With inflation this should still be below 20k today, but no...
What car would that have been?
You can get a new EV for under 30k these days. ICE cars are still cheaper but if you consider the total cost of ownership, they're pretty competitive.
Still too expensive.
Also no car on the list uses LFP batteries, showes a lag behind China.
Stellantis is absolute dogshit. Per example, the C3 is a combustion car with an electric motor (and a battery). It has no electric perks. I hated it. Electric cars need pure electric platforms.
I would never buy a Stellantis car. Stellantis is the bargain bin of the automotive industry and you get what you pay for.
I don't know. I've had a Fiat 500 electric for almost four years, and I love it!
Interesting! Can you explain what you missed and what youโd have needed in the C3? Why canโt you build an electric car alongside an ICE car and have a good EV?
I'm pretty sure you CAN do it because from everything I see, the new BMW i cars (so not the 3 or 8) are pretty great?
No oneโpedal driving, no regeneration settings (actually there arenโt settings for most features). The D for drive is on a lever you pull backward and R is forward. When D was selected the car crept forward like a combustionโengine vehicle without pressing the pedal. Fake and poor range estimate. Slow charging speed. I donโt remember everything, but I know I hated driving it compared to my Kia EV3.
EVs need a dedicated electric platform so they can have a larger battery, a frunk, and no central transmission hump inside the cabin.
Edit: A dedicated electric platform also means software built for electric vehicles (not shared with an ICE platform).
Same with the Mercedes EQA, EQB and EQC.
Here is a secret for cheap E cars.
buy second hand
I am about to get a 3 year old long range audi for half the price of my KIA hatchback EV
Why not "Smart EQ forfour" for ~25T EUR in the List?
I think that's not in production any more, so if it's available new they'll just be selling off some left over inventory.
You're probably right. And the new Versions (2, 3 and 4 in future) are much more expensive. I really hate it.
Iโm voting for kโฌ
