If you tell here and there what equipment and software have you used you can can get couple of tips from me and others.
I think you could have used longer exposure times.
I tried 30 second exposures at first, but those were too blurry. 2-4 seconds works fine, but I'll keep experimenting
Depending on the lens, the camera sensor and mount you could push it even further. There are calculators to calculate max exposure time.
If you describe in detail, what camera and lens where you using. ISO, time and f stops. How many frames have you taken? How and what exactly have you done for processing I can give you some tips.
Sure. Nikon d750 with Nikon AF 50mm f/1.8 D in this case I used 1/2 second exposures at f/4, ISO 3200. Around 25 raw frames, 3 of which were discarded during editing. Manually aligned them in photoshop, converted to a smart object, tried avg and max stack modes. This one is the max.
From quick math with 500 rule (500/focal length ) it comes up with around 10s for your camera + lens. More frames means better image.
For F number use as low as possible and adjust ISO for balance.
For stacking use Dedicated program like DeepSkyStacker or Pixinsight. It will enable you to have hundredths of frames.

If you want you can find an object on this map: https://www.skymaps.com/downloads.html and try to point the camera towards it. It's harder than you might think.
Good luck and clear skies.
Thank you. Deepskystacker worked really well on another batch. I'll use different settings next time and will do the dark and bias frames.
