The Trump administration came to the Supreme Court on Wednesday morning, asking the justices to pause an order by a federal judge in Massachusetts that requires the Department of Education to reinstate more than $65 million in training grants meant to address teacher shortages that it terminated in February because they funded programs that have diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.

Why is it that Trump and his crew are so against education? This doesn't even seem like a lot of money
- Educated people do not become fascists.

- Educated people question things, and can use critical thinking skills.
- Probably for the same reason they're against medicine
- Republicans have always hated education, mostly because properly educated kids have been taught critical thinking skills, which give citizens the ability to detect and reject propaganda, which the Conservative Propaganda Machine relies on to recruit and indoctrinate new amd existing Republicans.
  Also, you know that old saying "Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it?" That's supposed to be a cautionary saying, but Republicans see that it as a game plan. So they don't want students learning about things that they think makes them look bad, like slavery, the Native American genocide, the Civil War, etc. DeSatan, who has waged outright war with the Florida education system, said "I dont want kids learning anything thay makes them feel guilty about being white," so he killed any curriculum that taught anything about our racial history, including the Civil War. Florida's educational system is now systemically racist - by design.
- They're not. This would primarily be a blow to PUBLIC education, which is what this kleptocracy hates. Private schools will work to snap up teachers, and several dozen people who own the private school networks will get a little bit richer. The knock on effect of "uneducated people are easier to lie to and manipulate" is just that - an unintended knock on.
  
  Private schools pay shit wages, they're much less than public schools in most places.
  And that sucks because all teachers get paid so much less as a whole than they should.
  Now that special education funds will be gone due to that money essentially solely coming from the federal government, public school teachers are going to have a MUCH harder time teaching without the special needs students not having the services they need. It ends up severely impacting the entire class.
  
  Don't forget about starving the poor so that they'll send their kids to the mines
- Republicans have always managed to get power, by banking on the uneducated americans. More uneducated americans, more chances Republicans stay in power.
