I’m sick of talking, let’s end this
Me as a dumb kid: "Violence is bad. The speech check reduces suffering and is thus worth doing."
Me as a slightly less dumb adult: "Killing every legionaire in sight reduces suffering far, far more."
Me in most games, talking this person down results in less combat, which is more fun, so it is the right choice.
