Yes, it was quite brutal. Hope no one else has to deal with that just to read the article.
it appears substackcdn.com is the offending domain, uBlock filters the pop up for me.
That's just how substack work. If you go to a substack it gives a pop up to try and get you to subscribe to the substack.
Well I don't know what it was supposed to do, as soon as the pop up came up my browser would crash, I had to "stop" the page from loading before it came up to read the article.
never had that happen to me, apologies. But most content from this sub is from substack so you either get used to it or don't.
Blocking JavaScript makes it load fine, at least.
