Nah. I've seen the witchhunts that Lemmy relishes. No offense to you though!
But people will legit screenshot pieces of my conversations and follow me to other posts and other communities. Then they post those screenshots, out of context, and yell variations of "Don't listen to him. He's a troll! See?! See?!" Even in non-political posts and discussions.
I've seen it happen over and over.
So I just don't get that detailed anymore. Not that I will ever be run off of Lemmy, but I just won't get into deep detailed conversations. Which I'm totally fine with. :)

I'm sorry that you feel that way. If you're uncomfortable giving your opinion I can give mine and see if we have any middle ground. From my perspective, DOGE is an attempt to repeat what was done to Twitter on a much larger scale. The U.S economy is crashing hard as a result. I'm legitimately concerned the damage DOGE has done to the U.S government will be permanent. The cutting of research and government programs at this level will have lasting impacts that will reduce the quality of life of Americans for generations. I can elaborate further if you want. I understand others gut reactions to down vote your comments and your posts when they disagree but this is a conservative community. I'm clearly not conservative but respect that people have other political views. Perhaps I'm an optimist but I think if platforms like Lemmy don't allow those on the other side of political spectrum to have conversations then it pushes people into their own echo chambers further polarizing the individual. I hope you feel more comfortable to share your personal opinion on what is happening in future. Given how extreme it is, I think its necessary to really understand what is happening.

OP is one of the most prolific posters here, operating several accounts and sometimes posting 50+ times a day.
His salient trait is that he wants to control the narrative by queue flooding but claim “it’s just an article, I didn’t write it and have no opinion”.
The reason he feels attacked is because he made an absolute ass of himself and his inauthentic behavior became very obvious and got called out over and over again (this is when he was a staunch Socialist supporting Jill Stein)

I was just struck by a conservation I had with a family member recently that made me want to start commenting on these communities. I was telling the family member about Lemmy/Mastodon and urged them to join but they said their "crowd" was on X. I did realize certain articles posted to conservative communities get down voted to oblivion while the same article on a news community will get hundreds of up votes.
I want the fediverse to be open to all even those with differing opinions...
What makes you think OP is operating several accounts? Why flood such dead communities?

His interaction and writing style is easy to recognize, under a previous username he boasted about having dozens of accounts and using them to flood/control narratives, and he posts literally identical links seconds apart under different accounts - easy to correlate.

Thank you! I was reading that posters comments and was just scratching my head trying to find out what I posted that they misunderstood. I felt like I was watching them have a totally different conversation than what I was seeing in the thread. So I don't know if they are talking about posts on here that I can't see because of blocking or whatever.
But yikes. What the heck? Same writing style? What does that even mean? lol
They said multiple accounts with exact same links, but when I posted the article here, there was no mention that it's has been posted here before, so I'm totally confused. lol Are there multiple copies of the same articles here by different posters?! I'm not seeing that. Maybe I have some instance blocked or something?

I don't. And that posters crazed response was what I'm talking about. Many posters on Lemmy get so enraged coming across a different political opinion that they start pointing the finger and anyone who disagrees with them and makes up some grand conspiracy of vast spy operations, multiple accounts, bots, etc. It's fucking weird! lmao
Feel free to look at my post history. It's public. I don't post 50 times a day. I legit have no idea what that poster is going on about. It's great that they proved my example to you about people like that though. Now you know...lol

Yep. I have been banned from communities just because I post in this community. I've had science articles from AP News downvoted simply because they look at my post history and see that I have posted links to conservative articles. It's crazy.
But don't let that turn you off of Lemmy. I love Lemmy and I'll never leave. But many here can be um, pretty passionate, about things and actually stalk your posts. lol

I asked that poster the same thing. Not only that, but I'm posting conservatie articles to conservative communties. How is that "flooding" Lemmy?!
Not only that, you can just "block" a community and you'll never see the posts there. So why doesn't that poster just block conservative communities?! I've never posted my articles to a community that didn't fit the communities theme/guidelines.
Again, don't let postes like that turn you off of Lemmy. You can also just block individual posters and never see their posts as well.
The only way people like that are seeing my articles is by purposely not blocking me or conservative-themed communities.
They seem to like to be upset. Very strange.

I get what you're saying but at the same time, it is much easier to tear things down then build them up. If you fire everyone that manages social security for example, it will be very difficult/costly to train up all new people. This isn't some policy that can just be reversed and that's the end of it. I'll reiterate, I truly think think the damage being done will lower the standard of living for Americans for generations to come and that really saddens me.

You don’t think cutting social security, Medicare, Medicaid, veterans benefits and other social safety nets won’t harm Americans? How exactly do you think it will make things better or stay the same?
Firing 100k-200k federal jobs will have trickle down effects like Reagan could only dream of.
How is selling government property going to help anyone? We already have an over abundance of office space, now we are going to dump more sqft into the market? What will that do to prices of commercial property?
