That's abuse
7 42 ReplyZron @lemmy.world You’ve never had a cat get covered in dirt or sprayed by a skunk, have you?
Sometimes bath time is very much needed, even if the cat may disagree

I wash my cat once in a while because she doesn't do a good job of keeping herself clean.
You don't use the shower for that and you don't make it a slow and agonizing process
8 12 ReplyZron @lemmy.world My cat responds far better to the shower than to a sink or wet rags. The sink is the only time she’s ever actually tried to claw at me, the shower she’ll go into and sit around while I gently spray her down, but she will look like this if I’m not done in a few minutes, because she’s young and hates being confined for any noticeable length of time.
17 1 Replypearsaltchocolatebar @discuss.online I've had multiple cats that would just come chill in the shower with you. They have varied personalities.

yeah most cats fear running water
(but tbf if your cat has a fear of water in general there's not much you can do)

Beetschnapps @lemmy.world This is the same as a kid enduring a vaccination. The adults know what’s happening.
20 1 ReplyMurdoc @sh.itjust.works Except that we generally don't think that the kid's fear and crying is "Funny". At least I don't.
4 10 ReplyArcaneSlime @lemmy.dbzer0.com Well hopefully the cat doesn't read this post.
