I've noted that for some reason society in general seems clueless that women actually exist
Society was built and designed for/by men. Misogyny is hardcoded.
For Better or Worse
Men and women only exist when there is a need for a gender to be specified. Most of the time it's just "people".
I'm all for (trans-inclusive) gender abolition, but this is just erasing invisibility of women and queers (e.g. history of science)

Most of the time gender doesn't matter though. It only matters when you need to qualify something. Not everyone thinks about a person's gender First

Oh yea, in like the 15 years online when people assume I'm a guy I don't bother to correct anyone anymore. The default assumption is that everyone is a dude, no matter how pink your profile pic is.
The only exception is voice chat for obvious reasons but if you play online games with voice chat you only make the mistake of speaking a few times until you learn.
And many are even offended at that fact
