Was that an earthquake?
yes
@baconmash @goodviking yup that was fucking scary... where... how big?
we're in Gippsland... felt pretty strong.
So many people awake at this hour
i was dreaming putting my CV together
This one woke me up! (In south east Melb, near Cranbourne)
Looks like the epicentre is 127km east of Melbourne
@goodviking @Misskitty05 yup. basically we were right on to of it!!
springvale. shook me awake. lasted for maybe 15 seconds? mild compared with the 6.0 one
@baconmash when was the 6.0, and what epicentre?
@baconmash Ah yes that was a corker, I had given birth the day before and was on the 2nd or 3rd floor at The Women's, not a great feeling being in a multi storey building and extremely defenseless!
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-06-30/magnitude-4-6-earthquake-strikes-rawson-victoria/102544874
turns out to have been an aftershock of that one
Oh! That's a long wait.
Interesting - right on the Cheltenham/Mentone border and didn't feel a thing.
maybe your house is sturdier
Nope it went brrr all right during the last one!
I’m Gippsland too and it woke me up, strongest I’ve felt in a while.
@ReadEverything where abouts? We are in Rawson.
The epicentre is at Rawson https://earthquakes.ga.gov.au/
@goodviking yup just saw that a few minutes ago, made a report
We are Neerim, you must have got a good shake in Rawson there.
@ReadEverything actually I'm seeing other reports saying it was slightly further north of us, and you probably felt it about as much as we did..
Yes it was pretty strong
@ReadEverything we're the green dot, heh.
@ReadEverything hmm not sure if you can see images in Lemmy posted from Mastodon?
@ReadEverything yup, it woke me up and was pretty scary. Like being back in Wellington!
@ReadEverything still would have been pretty strong in Neerim, that's not too far
oh you’re at the epicentre!
@baconmash slightly south, seems epicentre is between us and Mansfield
I woke up halfway through, was it big, it felt pretty big here.
