There was a legitimate big bang about 40 mins ago and I heard it hooray. Apparently something entering the atmosphere.

my conjecture is based also on the fact that's been a peak in solar activity, a, G1-G2 level event:https://www.sws.bom.gov.au/Geophysical/2/1
which has potential to knock out satellites unintentionally, as opposed to expected launch stages, though the path for that seems to make potential sense too.
Most unintended re-entries of Starlink seem to be more dramatic with disintegration, so a different kind of item eg Russian, might well make sense, but here's a confirmed Starlink satellite entering over Puerto Rico, for comparison:

Expert reckons space junk, which could definitely include a Starlink. Jelly & wish I had seen it too, not like I wasn't getting woken up almost hourly last night by either cat or toddler. Hmph.
