Forever searching for a glossy image, while rotting at the core.

There is Obamacare. 90% tax rate is too high. It would discourage people from becoming rich. Defense spending support jobs. The US exports weapons to other countries. Education is free up to high school. After that would require high taxes.

Obamacare leaves 26 million without healthcare and was always meant to enrich the health insurance companies.
90% tax of the ultra wealthy has historical precedent.
The death, destruction, and genocide of peoples outside the US being excused, because it creates jobs, is highly immoral besides being poor economics.
US schools are largely funded by a system of local property taxes, leaving poor abd rural neighborhoods with underfunding.
The topic was how the Democratic Party can attract voters. Doing exactly what they are doing now, as you suggest, is definitely not working. Imagine how out of touch a party has to be to lose to Donald Trump, twice.

I think that 50% should be the highest tax bracket. People should not be discouraged from becoming rich. Stopping Putin is stopping someone from killing Ukrainians. Democrats should be moving toward the center to attract moderate and independent voters. The mistake Democrats made in 2024 was running a weak candidate which polls showed was unpopular. When Biden quit, it was too late.

Harris was a quintessential Democrat. The left didn't leave the Democratic Party, the Democratic Party cast the left aside as detrimental to their shift right to oligarchy and militarism.
