Because what's in the bill for keeping the government open gives the GOP even more powers to fuck shit up.
It's not a Yes No vote for just staying open. It's crammed with a load of bullshit.

This turns the federal government into a slush fund for Donald Trump and Elon Musk. It sacrifices congressional authority and it is deeply partisan.

Im not a lawyer or elected official. No one on Lemmy is. Including you. So I refer to the official I did elect to represent me. It's their job to read the bills and act on them in my interest. AOC is doing exactly that.
