Was watching Lindsey Ellis's latest video essay where she was comparing conservative children media to those that teach social emotional intelligence. It struck me that much of media is socializing kids to have a officer in their head to be disappointed if they act in a way authority disapproves of. My kid loves power rangers but I get the same vibe, lots of shame based morality without validating what people are feeling.
It's a start. Go further and have the police document every encounter, get badge numbers and names and make the info public. And don't show up when the public starts taking some accountability into their own hands.
I literally clapped my cheeks together on the keyboard to write that last comment and couldn't be bothered to provide the numbers or context that you provided to support my statement.
Nowhere because it makes no sense. ACs aren't directly burning fuel, nor would capturing carbon help in their operation. It's like selling an extra unrelated device on top of an already expensive appliance. Sounds like a marketing scheme to shift responsibility to individual consumers.
Many things can be true. There is a genocide of Uighurs and it is misrepresented in American media. But putting genocide in quotes is straight up denial.
Ehh, the GOP does care what their base thinks of them, that's why they're doing all those podcasts. DNC is happy to say vote or die with little concern what their base thinks. Maybe if more Dems owned guns that would change, but I'm not so sure.
It's kind of weird how the CHP has become a hammer for things distinctly not about the highway. Got crime in Oakland? Send in the CHP with video cameras. Got homelessness? Send in the CHP to do a sweep. Need security? Send in the CHP. That being said this is the least offensive unorthodox use Newsome has used the CHP for.
Only if we beat it from him like a pinata.
