I've been running crunchbang++ on an older laptop since they updated to the latest Debian release.
I love how simple and speedy it is and since it's based on Debian 12 and GTK 4 I can still run all my software super easily.
It's also become my go-to live distro.
Who knew the post Barbenheimer saviour of cinema would be Taylor Swift. She is also single-handedly expanding the NFL's fan base.
Is there anything she can't do?
I can personally guarantee you how nice ultrawide is and beats 2 small monitors every day. I have had one for 6 years and can't go back. Windows makes it easy to snap left and right.
I use a program called PowerToys FancyZones to divide my ultrawide monitor into 3 equal sections that I can snap to as well. I suggest checking that one out no matter what you end up going with
Looks good. I'd go for 32 gigs of ram though if you can swing it. Also is there any reason why you want a 22" monitor specifically?
The reason this one should last is because ddr5 is new and so is the AM5 socket for AMD. AMD supported the previous socket from 2016-2022 so many are speculating that you should be able to do CPU upgrades for the foreseeable future without having to change the whole platform.
It worries me to see another engine getting mothballed in favor of Unreal 5. With all the garbage surrounding Unity lately I don't want the industry's eggs to all end up in a few baskets. I for one don't see Unreal's prices to stay at their current rate forever, especially while Epic is bleeding money in the Epic Games Store.
Maybe with Counter Strike 2 Valve can jump back in as a relevant player in the engine space.
That's interesting, I've had it happen on several occasions. Maybe I've been unlucky or had weird ram timings.
By chance do you know the speed and timings of the ram in your system?
I'll chime in with a build tip. DDR5 can take a super long time to post on first boot. Like a long time. Like a looooooong time. Like "RMA the board thinking it has memory issues" long. It's only on the initial boot during memory training and shouldnt happen again unless you reset the bios but just keep that in mind.
Also DDR5 is more sensitive than previous gens about being seated properly. Try not to touch the contacts whatsoever or wipe them off with microfiber and alcohol before seating them. It sounds excessive but I've solved problems before doing just a ram clean + reseat.
Also also, if you're looking at a 4060 look instead at a 6700xt and if you are looking at a 6700xt a 7700xt is marginally faster but has more hardware features. For the same money as a 7700xt you can get the last generation 6800 which has the same raw horsepower and more vram but lacks the new hardware features namely AV1 hardware decoding and envoding. They can still ray trace decently but they have a lot more raw power than a 4060 and more vram which if you hold on to a machine for years, which it looks like you do, the extra vram could be the difference between a game being able to start or not down the road. It's complicated.
4060-DLSS-Better Ray Tracing-RT hard to do with a lower spec card-only 8gb vram
6700xt-12GB vram-equal raster performance to 4060-Lesser ray tracing chops- missing extended AV1 and DLSS support.
6800-16gb vram- faster than 4060 and 6700xt-Missing AV1 and DLSS-more expensive.
7700xt-12GB vram- faster that 4060 or 6700xt-AV1 hardware support-more expensive-no dlss
PS I'm still rocking an AMD R9 390 from 2017 and even though I don't get a lot of fps anymore I can still enable HD textures and get really nice visuals just because of the 8gb vram which was a lot back then.
How did Frasier get so rich?
Someone whose whole shtick is being an asshole is an asshole.
Imagine that.
Not to say anything against the strikers but if AI could replace any writers it would be the ones from Bill Maher's show. All it would have to do is go to Boomer Facebook, find the memes with the crispiest jpegs and copy them outright.
I liked it a lot. A little long but never really boring.
I agree with others that it was heavy handed in some parts but pulled it's punches in others.
But practical sets, a good script, great casting, and an original story. Hell yes. The 4 sequels are going to be trash and the eventual cinematic universe will be a lead-painted tire fire. But it was great.
Weirdly the "vibe" of the movie was similar to a Cohen Brothers movie. It reminded be of the Big Lebowski structure and pacing-wise.

I looked through the documentation on Fortigates website and it does look like it's different steps for installation based on which Ubuntu version you have. Also something different for Debian. Not sure which Linux mint you have or even if it's LMDE but I'd run through this doc page and see if anything works out for you.
Also obligatory nobody asked but zyxel has had a lot of severe security issues lately. Actually so has Fortinet so stay vigilant.
Vs a 3060 a 6700xt would probably be a lot better for only a little more money. Otherwise it's probably Worth looking at used options as the price/performance gets worse as you get lower priced cards than that.
Maybe you're remembering this clip?

It's not TNG it's DS9 and technically it's from the original series but O'Brien is there and there are nationalistic tensions occuring.
Or mandroids if you will.
I won't.
That's a fair point. I remember there being several but honestly don't remember any specifically other than the Gamemaster of Triskelion because he gave such a funny performance.
I felt the exact same way about Q after the first episode both as a character and as a concept for the show. They basically introduced God in the first episode of a science fiction show and he is annoying and arrogant.
But he is actually one of the best characters by the time the show is over and his all-powerful nature is toned down a little bit.
Season 1 is pretty goofy and inconsistent overall. Give it a chance and accept it for what it is and by season 4 the writing is some of the best in science fiction TV.
I sense a slippery slope into mediocrity in the same way Halo has done since Halo 3. Pop one out ever couple of years like Assassin's Creed or Far Cry, make your money, never innovate again.
I always took it to stand for Racing Inspired Cosmetic Enhancement where people spent a bunch of money on a cheap can just to make it look cool without adding any actual functionality.
Ok I got ya now. So are you wanting Windows and Steam OS on the same Sd card as well as steam OS on the internal hard drive?
I don't know about SteamOS specifically but you can dual boot windows and Linux on the same drive. Each can exist on their own. The partition will still show up in windows but you can ignore it and it won't do anything. The problem is Windows and GRUB for Linux. Windows has a bad habit of just bulldozing GRUB and making Linux unbootable.
