  • Clarification: it was a qualification race, not an F1 style qualifying. The accident occurred relatively early in the race when the cars of that group were still bunched up. From what I’ve seen in other reports, the cause was an oil spill. I didn’t see any report that indicated negligence on the side of the marshals or so.

  • The US is structured so you need a car unless you’re one of a lucky few in an urban area not built for cars.

    People in other countries are also reliant on cars. Even if public transport is available, it's often overpriced and unreliable.

    The problem isn’t the raw cost of gas, it’s the relative increase in cost which raises the cost of living in step because you cannot live here without a car.

    The same is true in the rest of the world and there the cost is much higher.

    When Stroll jumped into the car, it was basically already over for them.

    But not without collecting >100 secs penalty for repeated track limits violations (in addition to making the same blue flags mistake again).

  • But, lance stroll is in it.

    Yeah and he's definitively not going to win it. He races in the pro class and he and his co drivers will have a hard time keeping up with the actual pros of which there are plenty. There is the usual caveat of technical difficulties but the sister pro car #007 should easily beat Stroll's lineup.

    That said, cross your fingers he likes this form of racing. He might actually fuck off from F1 then.

    2. Higher bitrates available
