  • Elon Musk supports the AfD in Germany and he did a Nazi salute at the American flag during Trump's inauguration. Additionally he's a billionaire who supports authoritarianism and the far-right, putting him in the upper right-hand corner of the political spectrum

  • I always understood it as trump wanting the natural resources that Greenland has, along with it being positioned in a future ultra strategic location for arctic trade. like if the polar ice caps melt in the summer then countries close to the north pole will be able to send more ships easily, making any land around chokepoints in this trade more valuable - like Greenland

not saying I like any of this stuff, but this is what I've heard

  • You say the best option for storing money is cash under the mattress but I'm wondering what you think of cryptocurrencies in this case. I'm thinking that while keeping a flash drive with some Monero isnt physical, and requires internet to be used, it cant be taken or controlled by anyone other than yourself so it satisfies that at least. Also theoretically you could memorize the 25 word passcode that most wallets offer and store the money in your memory to some extent

  • I think the methods they use to make all this 'ai' art is really interesting, like diffusion models and stuff, but the fact that they are literally stealing from artists and creators without compensating them is pretty bad

  • thats why we have space companies and a moon covered in mineable minerals ngl if humanity can figure out some way of sending everyone to space, we totally should might be better for the climate if done right

  • If solar was used everywhere then it would also require a large investment in batteries to power stuff in the night There's pros and cons for everything and probably the best solution is to have several green energy sources, solar, wind, nuclear ect.

  • If one party promises to solve an issue to their voters, they can actually benefit from not doing enough about it so they can campaign with it again. If one party promises to not stop mass shootings, and the other benefits from promising to do something about them and then not doing enough, nothing much will happen. I really think this issue is a symptom of the two party system
