  • Early release was supposed to be in 2024. We have halfway through 2025.

    Lead devs have said the game is ready for early release, so they are likely taking a break from a game they feel is being delayed by the publisher. The publisher is whining about expectations, not obligations or anything along those lines.

    I'm with the devs on this one, project burnout is real.

  • They did not have any reason to personally attack the leads except out of spite, and odds are high that doing so will only anger the player base towards the publisher.

  • If you are happy with the plants being where they are then they aren't weeds. The main problem is companies that sell plant killing chemicals and services treat the word 'weed' as if it had a universal meaning.

  • It is my favorite software as a service model.

    They run a continuous story based experience that is extremely well done. They do offer the ability to buy in game credits, but if you play regularly there is no reason to as they show up frequently in game. Their cosmetic store only has a few items, but they cycle around so there will always be another chance to get them.

    And when the devs did fuck up the gameplay, they admitted it and changed course. When Sony forced them to add in the PlayStation login the devs supported the players in pushing back and we now have an official review bomb cape.

    My assumption is that Krafton expected the leads to put in 12 hour days 7 days a week to meet ridiculous expectations and the leads took some vacation time or something along those lines. That would match up with common publisher behavior, especially the ones that trash people publicly.

  • I had hundreds of thousands of karma and tens of thousands of comments on reddit over nearly a decade, maybe half of what I do here. Avoided the really popular subs, which probably had something to do with it.

  • One of the main complaints from reddit was that people would be banned from communities for simply subbing to certain communities, or expressing views in other communities. This was mainly an issue with the supermods or whatever they were called that were mods of tons of communities and they handed out mass bans for ridiculous stuff and use those actions to justify further mod action in a death spiral.

    We have reached that on several fediverse instances where a few mods that oversee multiple communities, sometimes with one mod across instances, and they are acting as if any down votes are malicious and intentional and using each other's moderation to justify further bans.

    It is actually even more entertaining for me because I was never banned on reddit, so I've been banned from communities here for simply expressing a dislike of AI and down voting a few AI posts. That's right, the moderation in the fediverse has even more petty tyrants than I ever ran into on reddit.

  • Anyone using a tool that does mass down voting is horrible and deserves bans.

    That is not likely to be the case here, because a lot of mods are assuming that any down votes are brigading if they see any kind of pattern to it. Like a few people browsing All and New down voting a terrible post shortly after it is posted are accused of brigading.

    Just pointing out that every time this has come up in YPTB it is an overreacting mod hiding behind the 'anti AI harassment or brigading' while the explanation is a few people happened to downvote a few things. I don't doubt there have been a few people doing that, but absolutely not enough to justify Draconic Leo's moderation log filled to the brim with accusations of bote manipulation. Pointing things out isn''t sealioning, nor is having a conversation in the comments of the same post.

    Here you go though, what comment(s) in my moderation or posting history are harassment?

    The answer is none, the accusation in the bans is a lie.

  • Acting like my moderation history is accurate when shitty mods treat a few downvotes as manipulation is the biggest part of the problem. You are taking their word for it that their moderation is accurate when it is not. The list is long because one mod did like a dozen of them at the same time.

    That is the perfect example of why this is a problem!

    The other one is jet at hackernews who has a bot that bans people for a single downvote and he has bragged about it right here in YPTB! Some of those bans are cross instance because they mod communities on multiple instances and banned all of them. It is the action of three or four ridiculously over the top mods.

    It's like talking to a wall.

  • I have yet to see an example of any individual post getting more than a handful of downvotes, which is completely expected to happen when hundreds or thousands of users have the opportunity to come across the content. That isn't harassment, and neither is people vocalizing their dislike of AI in comments.

    If people are being harassed, then there should be moderation records, right? Are there dozens of people harassing people who like AI, or is the 'constant harassment' just disagreement that has been blown out of proportion by people who run communities that don't get the attention they think they deserve?

    My one vote per post or comment is jot part of any problem. That is how voting works. I don't coordinate with anyone else, it is just me using a feature that exists the way I want to.
