"Maybe you asked them to hit you when you volunteered to hand over your wallet."
"Hey Pete, this guy is one of those men trying to ruin innocent people's lives with false mugging claims!"
Hot damn this comment section is a flood of sexist shitheads being perfect example of the culture that assumes women's accusations are false and trying to ruin men's lives. So damn disappointing.
That is what 'believe women' means, because women's claims of sexual violence are frequently not believed to the point that the police come up with excuses to not even look into the claims. Then if they do, the prosecutors come up with reasons why they shouldn't 'waste time' prosecuting when there is as much evidence in a rape case as there is in a murder case.
If there isn’t physical evidence like semen, then the victim is called a liar.
They are called liars when there is physical evidence. Not to mention the massive backlog of processing rape kits.
Yeah, this comment section is a dumpster fire of people spouting the same shit the police do when they dismiss rape accusations and the fact that they are upvoted is even more depressing.
The last game that I remember that needed a disc to play was Battlefield 1942 and I made a virtual drive with an ISO so I didn't need to put the stupid disc in every time and listen to it spin up. Current PC doesn't have a drive at all.
While I think a lot of the old box art was neat and all, I don't miss the physical requirements that took up space and all the manual updates and whatnot. Absolutely love steam's digital store and if that ever shits the bed and there isn't an alternate I will just stop PC gaming because the effort to manage all that stuff isn't worth it any more. Music and movies are the same, the physical media was nice for its time but I don't need to interact with it to use it anymore.
Everyone’s claims should be taken seriously and looked into.
That is what "believe women" means. It means actually looking into the claims instead of dismissing them out of hand because they were made by a woman.
Usage by scientists to do pattern matching and by language models to replicate natural sounding language and a bunch of other AI is neat and useful but the AI is not literally intelligent as described by the people that are dumping LLMs into settings they are not actually useful for like regurgitating accurate facts.
When we criticize AI in situations like this it is because they are using a tape ruler to hammer in a nail and then taking away people's hammers and replacing them with tape measures and then we find out they stole all the tape measures.
We are complaining about a combination of what it is and how it is used. We also want to make sure that a term that means something stupid is clearly used for that stupid thing and doesn't lose meaning because they have some vaguely related usage. Using a hammer put pound in a nail and using the hammers claw to pull a nail out are two different things even if they both use a nail.
Where as you seem to think anyone criticizing shitty use of AI means all AI that exists instead of understanding context.
But with better lighting effects and awesome music!
This was going to be my suggestion. There is plenty of room in the world so there is always somewhere else to build a base. The friends I played with coordinated the building of major bases we shared though.
The only thing I can think of as a very long term negative is that mined ore doesn't regenerate in the base game, but I assume there are mods to address that for large servers.
We had a garden when I was a young kid, it was a blast getting fresh vegetables and all the rest.
It was possible because my mom was a stay at home mom at the time. When we got a little older and money was tight, mom went to work and the garden didn't get planted anymore because nobody had reliable time to spend weeding or watering anymore.
Requiring all the adults to work full time jobs, sometimes more than one, means no time for taking care of anything around the home anymore unless someone is lucky enough to retire while they are still physically active.
Yeah, mornings at the end of the 'day' were the best when I worked overnights or really late shifts. Sitting on the porch and drinking a beer with my roommate while kids passed by on their way to school was pretty damn funny.
A clause specific to inserting GPS into the anus, sure, but what about other orifices?
