I can be controversial or annoying because I always require proof and facts for whatever people are saying/claiming. This has gotten me into a lot of heated debates, even got myself banned from "YouShouldKnow" for saying I need more proof of Israeli's genocide (that was long ago, got more proof and changed my mind). If I do not agree on some subjectively obvious topic, please do not assume I'm being unfriendly, evil or a troll. I do try my best to approach any subject with neutral and open mind. Just call me autistic with OCD

  • "robot needs to be controlled"

Imagine paying 720 dollars per day so that some employee drives a robot around your house, looking at things and just cleans surfaces or rearranges stuff.

  • It's quite popular tech-related news website. Been around for as long as I can remember and never really noticed anything shady. Not a single filter/AdBlock blocks it on my end.

  • For some reason I imagined a car covered (colored) in fake license plates

  • What use could Russia have from hom? Politician is useless as soon as he's barred from having influence or sayings in the matter.

  • So how does Lemmy feel about what happened? Is everyone assuming it's fake/marketing stunt? I actually found it quite interesting. Like that old story that goes "AI was tasked at saving the planet. It figured that best way to save it is to kill all humans. The humans simply forgot to add an instruction "without killing humans"".

They didn't set instructions like "don't use internet, don't escape virtualization, etc.", they simply limited it at software level, and so it found a way. But honestly Claude still feels more impressive to me. Shit, I remember thinking how LLMs will never really do anything besides generate text, but this thing might actually be scary in near future.

  • Have you tried USB-specific players? I remember using USB player pro or whatever it was called, did the job perfectly.

If you're going to get BT adapter, may I recommend this?

  • Are we still talking about YouTube? Because if so, I'm mesmerized at how wrong you are

  • They might be referring to endogamy

  • So you can kill and get killed instead of fight legally?

  • If you know your shit might be problematic - throw some toilet papers on top of it. Always flushes without fail.

Granted, you can't always flush toilet papers and not all of them

  • Imagine torrenting a videogame trailer

  • Yeah, I strongly disagree. It's a genuinely valid way to figure out someone better. While the tests and all that aren't really standardized, the idea is quite clear, and the idea works. Just because it was made mainstream, does not mean it's suddenly bad. Just because the origins are sketchy, does not mean the theory is invalid. It just essentially means one's ability to objectively assess your own and other's emotions, feel empathy (not just understand it, but feel it), low emotional intelligence people would be less rational about their own and everyone's else's emotions. You simply cannot argue against this. It's a skill/mechanism that makes society function better.

  • I genuinely don't understand your argument. Are you saying it's not a valid measurement system because humans came up with it? Just like everything else? What is your actual argument against emotional Intelligence as a metric besides that it was created by someone you don't like?

  • Nobody was talking about 'emotional intelligence' 5 years ago in popular culture. Now it's ubiquitous.

This is so incredibly false. Just look at the google trends. In 2004 it's popularity was similar to that of 5 years ago, and even back in my teenager years I constantly heard it around and was part of studies.

I don't understand what does actual buzzwords have to do with measurement system. They pretty much never go away just like IQ.

  • I'm not sure if you made a mistake, but you're comparing lifetime sales to pre-orders. I didn't even know people preorder phones besides iphone.

That being said, after using one foldable for 2.5years now, I don't think I will ever go back to non-foldable.

  • The cobbler's children have no shoes

  • Everything can be a buzzword if it doesn't directly apply to a selfish person with low EQ

  • Maybe Trump is a visionary and realized Russia is going to need that oil more than the west
