/u/outwrangle before everything went to shit in 2020, /u/emma_lazarus for a while after that, now I’m all queermunist!

  • In a lot of cases they're really only good at manipulating other people into giving them money, but otherwise not particularly intelligent. They're highly skilled at that one thing, and basically nothing else.

It's that Bruce Lee quote; "I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times." Except instead of practicing kicks they practice lying.

  • Israel is the US. They are the same country.

The US will happily give itself a Pearl Harbor or 9/11

  • I'm not giving the genocidal state any consideration. The ruling caste deserves to be bombed, no question.

But we have to give consideration to the Palestinians living under the boot within Israel, because they're the ones who won't be allowed into the Jewish bomb shelters. I think that's what the Axis is trying to figure out with these negotiations; is it possible to defeat Israel without sacrificing the Palestinians that live there? And to do it within an acceptable time-frame? Maybe.

I'm frustrated too, but I'm not the one with my body on the line. I can't blame the Axis of Resistance for exhausting all other options.

  • I can ask myself all I like, but I'm not the one that has to burn the answers onto my body.

If bombing Israel was the only way to destroy it, then maybe it's worth it. It's not. "Israel" isn't a real country, it's a fragile garrison state that can only exist as long as it is provided an unlimited supply of weapons and investment. Cut off that supply and Israel will melt into air as all the settlers flee back to their home countries. There's simply no need to kill Israel's human shields.

And that's why Iran is playing this game. They're trying to collapse Israel without killing all the Palestinians that live there.

  • But they live in Israel all the same, and if Israel is bombed they're the ones who won't be allowed in the bomb shelters.

  • What do you think a Party even is? Do you think it's a liberal social club? That the DNC is just a bunch of like-minded individuals?

The Party is an institution, with its own leadership and structure and financiers and insiders. It's an organization.

It's baffling that you don't think a political party has a political agenda.

  • I'm baffled by your reply - what does it have to do with my comment? I didn't even use the word "liberals"?

My point is that party primaries are not fair, and they are not intended to be fair. The Democrats could make a primary rule that forbids socialists from even running as Democrats, and it would be entirely legal. Primary rules are not the same as general election rules. Any socialist trying to run as a Democrat should run under the assumption that the Party will put its thumbs on the scale.

  • I will never believe the 2020 Iowa caucus was legitimate - the Iowa Democratic Party chair resigned after that disaster and Iowa lost its first in the nation status because of how badly it fucked things up.

But, party insiders working together with party leadership to discipline party voters is normal political party stuff. The fact that Clinton, and later Biden, won because the Party put its thumbs on the scale is simply a factor of running in the Dem primary. Any insurgent candidate has to be able to deal with that, and Bernie failed. He tried to run as if the election would be fair, and lost.

  • The risk to pedestrians is a bonus to the average motorist.

  • Russian drone hits zoo in Ukraine’s Kharkiv, kills animals

It's fascinating how we're talking about Ukraine targeting children, and then you respond with this.

Why would you do that? Are you saying that Belarusian children are the moral equivalent of zoo animals?

  • No, explain it to me. I'm fucking stupid and can't understand your arguments because you're so much smarter than me.

By your definition, why can't you label a bean burrito with lard a plant-based protein? The protein is plant based! What's the difference?

  • No, I used "lard" as an example. If it's plant-based protein, then by your definition lard should be an acceptable ingredient.

  • And so now you respond with sexist slurs.

I'm sticking with "illiterate" - your vocabulary is too small to think of ways to defend yourself without attacking me as a woman. EDIT Or maybe you just hate women, and at the slightest provocation the sexist slurs start pouring out.

  • What the fuck? The whole reason people buy things that are plant-based is because they don't want to eat animals - either vegans or environmentalists or other conscious consumers. No one who is shopping for plant based protein wants lard in their food. What's the point of the "plant-based" label if it doesn't mean "made of plants"? Who is it for? It's fucking stupid.

Why are you defending this? These kinds of ticky-tacky advertising technicalities just make the consumer's experience worse.

  • Uh huh.

So if it's a bean burrito made with added lard and cheese, it's plant based? After all, it's plant-based protein!

It's nonsense. What's even the point of having a label that says "plant based" if it doesn't mean "made of plants"?

  • It's reasonable to be upset when scam artists try to trick us.

  • There are some students who believe he is absolutely a justified vigilante

Actually he was at my house playing Mario Kart.

He doesn't play the character you'd expect!

  • It competes with social media in the sense that social media wants conscious consumers to also use their shitty products.

  • It doesn't meet the "reasonable consumer" standard. A reasonable consumer would not think "plant based" means anything other than "made entirely of plants" - though that's US law, no idea about BC.
