The elephant in the room is the proposed handout to the company that owns the Spurs.
It’s one thing to have a city-owned and operated venue (unionized, well paying civil servant jobs), where concessions, ancillary fees and partial ticket proceeds all go back to the city. It’s another thing entirely to write a blank check based on the threat of leaving. That’s emotional blackmail for the fans, and extortion for the rest.

If a new stadium has to be built, then let it be owned and operated entirely by the City of San Antonio.
