  • lately it has gotten worse in the sense that im increasingly more tired all the time and playing videogames dont hold my interest as it used to. nothing does, quite frankly, but that just seems to be regular depression and, well, things it seems i have to learn to deal with, or something along those lines

thank you for taking the time to reply though, and i deeply hope youre in a better place now, compared to from where once you were

  • yeah, when considering something so final as that it makes sense to truly try everything else first but thats the thing. i know, rationally, that going homeless or seeking other ways is the road that has... options. hope, i guess. yet at the same time it is uncertain, and in the occasional times when im just tired and want it all to end, the choice of just- making all stop sounds more appealing, given that the alternative is something that ive clumsily tried to reach towards for a decade or so now.

but, still, thank you for replying. and yeah, finding some kind of community seems to really be an important thing, and of course feeling comfortable in your own person so that you can interact with others to its fullest. i can only assume, though.

  • depression_now! @lemmy.world

    im alone

  • you werent the one who mentioned anything about enforcing though, so i wasnt referring to you

and yes, im aware of "estadounidense", but in most translations/localizations ive seen nowadays "americano" or "americana" is used, too, which is the same as american, because the thing has been around so long that cultural globalization just made it the new standard

of course, colloquially speaking we just call them "gringos" more often than not, for the same language reasons they call themselves 'americans'. difference being who is the neocolonialist lmao but, i digress

  • cant wait until the day is done so i can continue my honor mode run of bg3 the danger of all being lost to a game over certainly is a rush, and i understand why some people play exclusively ironman modes in most games now

  • ya have to consider that game development back then was a hobby/new business venture and the corporations hadnt gotten its capitalist, profit-maximizing ray all over the process yet

just look at indies vs the usual story of how upper management gets in the way of development

  • the mistake there is expecting the education system to focus on actually make an effort to teach kids guided by their individual qualities rather than reward/punish everyone that doesnt fit the cost-effective and efficient mold

wouldnt want to treat schools as anything other than a business nor pay teachers appropriate wages, now would we?
